Windsor Airport Departures

CATSA security

Ensuring the security and safety of passengers is the main priority for Windsor Airport. Security procedures at YQG airport are achieved by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA). CATSA security at Windsor Airport has its special security measures and procedures, and passengers are required to review terms and follow the rules.

CATSA security recommends travelers to get to the airport at least 90 minutes before their scheduled departure. Travelers are required to arrive at the Windsor Airport checkpoints earlier to have enough time for various security procedures provided by CATSA security at Windsor Airport. All travelers are required to provide valid identification at the YQG airport checkpoints. For domestic flights, state-issued ID or drivers' license will be enough, and for international flights, passengers have to provide a valid passport at the Windsor Airport checkpoints.

Security screening

Canadian Air Transport Security Service is responsible for all passenger screening and also their baggage before departure flight at YQG airport.

CATSA security provides security screening for departures. All passengers are required to go through the security screening, during the procedure they are asked by CATSA officers to remove shoes, belts, jackets, especially if those items have metal details, and place them in the plastic bin for the screening. CATSA recommends that liquids, gels, and aerosols must be placed in the plastic, clear bags, and during the security procedure, they also must be put in the plastic conveyor for the X-ray screening. Passengers also have to remove electronics and place them in the separate plastic bin. After security screening, please don't forget to collect all your personal belongings and items before leaving the checkpoint area.
