Teesside International Airport Departures

Arrival time

Teesside International Airport recommends that passengers arrive at least two hours before the scheduled departure time. Check-in counter operating hours depend on the airline a passenger is flying. Generally, check-in closes between 30-40 minutes before departure, while boarding begins around 40 minutes before the departure time.

Check-in online

At MME, each airline has its approach to online check-in; hence passengers are advised to verify them with their airline to get precise information on what they need to do and bring.

Check-in at the airport

The Check-in area desks can be found through the airline logo shown on the screen above the counter. Passengers should present a passport, tickets, or booking confirmation to save time.

Airport Security

At MME, the airport security staff are ready to assist passengers during screening procedures. For disabled persons, who require privacy or special assistance, a dedicated, private room is available within the search area to be entirely checked.

Passenger Facility Fee (PFF) ticket

All passengers at MME, who wish to pass security into the departures area must purchase a Passenger Facility Fee (PFF) Ticket. The PFF ticket machines are situated opposite the terminal check-in desks, or they can be purchased online. The current PFF fees for passing the Airport Security are as follows:

  • Under three years Free
  • Children aged 3-15 years £2.00
  • Adults £6.00.

Security Screening

Upon entering the security checkpoint area at Teesside International Airport, passengers should hold their airline boarding pass and PFF ticket ready for inspection. Passengers will be asked to remove jackets, coats, hats, belts, scarves, and heeled boots or shoes before they reach the security queue. Also, passengers should pre-prepare liquids kept in 100ml containers and should keep them separate from their carry-on bags (size restriction: 20x20cm). Plastic bags for liquids are available to buy right from the security. Concerning electrical items such as phones, tablets, or laptops, must be removed from hand luggage and should be placed separately into a security tray, for X-ray screening.
