Parking Information
The city of Derry Airport features a car park facility with a total of 500 Pay-On-Foot spaces located close to the terminal building. The secure parking space is covered by 24-hour surveillance and locked down for each evening. The Derry Airport offers a variety of car parking products, whether for a short break, longer stays, or just for dropping off passengers. For secure and convenient parking, passengers are advised to pre-book online. The latest deadline for booking parking is 6-hours before entering the car park.
There are no height restrictions at the LDY car park, but still, the width and length of a vehicle must not exceed the general size of standard parking space. If a vehicle exceeds a standard size for parking, the driver must contact the LDY airport in advance and request an individual booking to ensure the airport has enough space available for the customer.
Booking Parking
Customers who book the parking zone at LDY airport will receive a confirmation email with a booking reference, which customers should print out and present at the airport when parking a car. Besides, airport car par does not charge customers with any debit or credit card extra fees, nor additional booking fees at the time of booking.
However, some tariffs at the city of Derry Airport cannot be canceled or refunded. If a customer has booked a flexible package for parking, he/she can cancel or amend this up to 24 hours just before the expected arrival time at the car park. Note that an amount of £2.00 fee will be immediately applied to all cancellations and amendments.
Getting at the Parking Zone
Once pre-booked customers arrive at the entry barrier of the LDY car park, they must press the button, which is designated right on the ticket stand. Then customers will receive a ticket which they should bring to the Customer Services desk, located inside the main terminal building. At the Customer Service counter, customers must provide their booking names and ticket reference; Meanwhile, the staff will validate the car park ticket as pre-booked. Note that, customers should hold on to the ticket for return since this ticket must be inserted at the exit door of the parking zone to allow exit.
If, for any reason, a ticket does not react or is not issued, and the barrier will not open automatically. In that case, customers should press the intercom and speak loudly to a member of the car park team who will be happy to assist and help to figure out the problem. Also, note that customers will be asked for the booking reference, passport, ID, or driver's license as proof of identity just to validate the booking.
Disabled Parking
CoDA at the city of Derry Airport does not differentiate the pre-book car parking product for customers with restricted mobility, individual needs, or disability. If a person requires assistance by the LDY airport staff, then he/she should contact the Airport Customer Service Desk on +44 (0) 28 7181 0784, and inform the staff for particular conditions.
Disabled parking zones for the special disabled badge holders are provided in the main car park area, which is situated between the main gate and the terminal building. Once assistance is required upon parking, LDY's dedicated customer service team will be available and charged to assist disabled customers while getting from the car park to the main terminal building. LDY helping team can be contacted through a telephone counter in the car park. The first 2 hours are free to park a car, and after that, standard parking rates are applied, which is only available for those customers who are dropping off or picking up disabled passengers from the airport.
Price and Payment
At the city of Derry Airport parking, costs are mainly based on a car park rate for every 24 hours a car is in the car park zone, or a part thereof. LDY parking accepts the most major credit, debit, such as Visa, MasterCard, etc., cards.
Parking opening hours
At the city of Derry Airport for certain security reasons, the LDY car park is only open and available to the public use during the airport’s published operating hours. Therefore, vehicles cannot be obtained outside these hours.
