The city of Derry Airport houses the Amelia Earhart Lounge, which is open to all passengers who are making it the perfect start to their journey while traveling for leisure or business aims. The lounge provides a refined atmosphere along with the beauty of the surrounding countryside views. Access at the bar can be arranged via the airport's customer service counter or right from a member staff in the LDY Airport Shop. The Amelia lounge welcomes Dragonpass and Priority Pass holders as well as those passengers who want to pre-book online to access the lounge or simply pay upon their arrival to the city of Derry Airport. The lounge is open during regular airport operational hours from Monday through Sunday.

Special Assistance

The Civil Aviation Authority is in co-operation with the UK airports, and therefore collects feedback on the quality of the assistance it provides to all passengers with reduced mobility. The city of Derry Airport (CoDA) aims to promote effective customer services by ensuring a safe environment to meet and exceed all the needs and expectations of all air carriers of the LDY. CoDa’s mission is to recognize the individual and special needs of each customer and then ensure that the airport exceeds their expectations during traveling through LDY. Pre-notification is required for any special assistance within the airport at the time of booking the ticket.


An Ambulift is available at the LDY airport to convey passengers, as well as wheelchairs up to and from the aircraft door. This service makes an efficient, smooth, and convenient boarding and disembarking for passengers with reduced mobility.


Wheelchairs are also available at the LDY airport. Passengers required wheelchair assistance must request with their airline or tour operator when booking a flight. Their request information will be sent through to the airport direct, and LDY will ensure they have enough wheelchairs to preserve for each customer. Passengers can be able to remain in their wheelchair until they are at the aircraft for boarding time. For further information regarding wheelchair assistance, passengers are kindly advised to check with the airline before booking.
