Fairbanks International Airport Arrivals

FAI Arrivals

U.S Customs and Border Protection officers have necessary checking measures at Fairbanks International Airport, and each passenger arriving at FAI will have to fulfill this procedure. But border control is quite easy for those customers who make up their minds to participate in the Global Entry Trusted Traveler Program, which is available at FAI airport.

This program is for only pre-approved, low-risk passengers. They will have the advantage of passing CBP inspection lines and use the automated kiosk to complete their entry at Fairbanks International Airport. All they need is a passport and fingerprint. Afterward, customers will answer U.S customs declaration questions with the help of an automated kiosk's touch screen, and finally, they will be given a receipt. With it, they can go to the exit of the baggage claim area.

Global Entry Enrollment

Who can apply for the application for the Global Entry Program? First of all, citizens, nationals, and lawful permanent residents of the U.S can join the program. Furthermore, certain cities that have the reciprocal agreement with Customs and Border Protection can participate as well. The list of these cities is the following: Colombia, Germany, Mexico, the Netherlands, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. People living in these areas are allowed to take part in the Trusted Traveler Program. Concerning, Canadian citizens also have the chance, but only if they are enrolled in NEXUS. Customers under age 18 are not allowed to participate without the consent of parents or either legal guardian.

The enrollment procedure itself is quite easy. Applicants should visit the online website of the Global Entry system, and they must use U.S machine-readable passports, their fingerprints, their documentation proving identity, and permanent resident card. Afterward, they must pay a nonrefundable fee - $100.00. The last step will be a personal interview with a CBP officer. The membership lasts five years.
