Security
The safety and security of commuters and workers at George Best Belfast City Airport represent an absolute priority. For making a travel experience as smooth as possible and avoid unnecessary delays, passengers are asked to pay special attention to the security procedure.
Hand Baggage
Hand baggage policies and restrictions are at the responsibility of each airline. Travelers are required to learn about the number, size, and weight of allowed bags with the airline before they arrive at George Best Belfast City Airport.
For example, only the EU policy hand baggage size is 56cm x 45cm x 25cm.
Sporting items such as racquets, bats, cues, and clubs are not permitted as hand luggage. Similar oversized items and other bags that are over 56cm x 45cm x 25cm have to be processed separately and placed in the hold of the aircraft.
Liquids
Only limited quantities of liquids are allowed to be carried through airport security into the departure lounge. This limitation also refers to fragrances, suntan lotion, cosmetics, and toiletries.
The following restrictions apply to all creams gels, liquids, aerosols and pastes taken through security control:
Liquids can only be carried separately in a transparent and resealable single bag in containers holding 100ml or less. This bag should not be larger than 20cm x 20cm (8in x 8in) and can be appropriately closed with all the items inside.
Check-in
Check-in desks are conveniently located to the left-hand side upon entering the terminal.
Passengers are recommended to check-in as early as possible. In the case of the UK Flight, it is advised to arrive at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure. When traveling to Europe, passengers are urged to arrive at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure.
Commuters should check the instructions on their boarding pass or from their travel agent. If someone is still unsure, they can check with the relevant airline directly.
To save time, at the check-in counter, passengers should have their boarding passes and identification ready to show to the member of staff at the desk.
Commonly, valid forms of identification include Driving License, Passport, and ID Card.
However, commuters are recommended to check with their airline before traveling to the airport. Passengers who will fail to present a valid form of identification will not be permitted.
Commuters should make sure they have one piece of hand luggage only, which contains valuables and necessary items for the journey.
Once the hold luggage is checked in, and the boarding card has been issued, passengers can proceed to security control.
