Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport Departures

TSA checkpoints

At Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, Transportation Security Administration ensures airport security and also provides passenger screening. TSA checkpoint is located on the second floor of the terminal. Transportation Security Administration officers lead passengers to the screening process and also check the travelers' identification forms. At the TSA checkpoints, travelers are required to remove watches, belts, take off their jackets, shoes, and place them in the TSA bins for the screening. Passengers are also asked to take away any electronic item that is larger than a cell phone, from their carry-on bags. Passengers are encouraged to organize their bags, remember the liquid, and restricted item's rules and pack their carry-on bag accordingly. These actions will make security wait times shorter.

Each passenger also goes under the full-body scanner. Travelers must remember that metal things alarm the TSA scanners, and if the officer feels the need to “pat down” check the passenger, they must cooperate.

AVP participate in the TSA Pre-check program, so the passengers who are in this program, use another line of TSA checkpoint, where they are allowed to keep the shoes, jackets, belts, and the laptops in their carry-on bags.
